Happy Hunter Offering Shared Fishing Charters on Kauai

We are pleased to announce that Happy Hunter Sport Fishing in Kauai, Hawaii is now for the first time also offering Shared Charters.

What makes them unique for the 4 hour shared charter trip that they offer, is that they will commit to a share charter trip with a minimum of two clients:  Most Kauai fishing charters require at least a four person minimum for a share charter to commence, so booking the Shared charters on Happy Hunter through Hawaii Deep Sea fishing will be much easier to book and confirm.

Shared charters are booked at a per person rate, rather than booing the boat as a whole. Happy Times current 4 hour shared charter rates at the time of publish are $200 per person. Four hour Shared charters are perfect if its just you or one or two other people who want to go out, or you are limited for time, or new to Sport fishing and want to see what its all about.

If you’re looking for great deep sea fishing action in Kauai, the Happy Hunter is the boat for you!  They have been fishing and catching in these waters since 1988. The Happy Hunter II is a 41-foot Pacifica Sportfisher that operates out of Nawiliwili Harbor on the east coast of the island of Kauai. They have one of the best maintained and well kept sport fishing vessel on the island along with professionally maintained top of the line Shimano Tiagra reels and custom made rods handcrafted by Hank Zeevat for local Kauai waters.

Shared Fishing Charters in Kona, Big Island, Hawaii

Are you looking to charter a fishing boat on the Big Island, but for just for yourself or one or two others?

If you would like to try a Shared charter, instead of chartering the whole boat, you can join others and just book at a per person rate. Shared charters require at least 4 people to sign up for the fishing charter to operate.

Sea Wife II offer 4 hour shared charters each day, leaving in the morning at around 7:30 am or at 12 pm in the afternoon. There are also rates for non fishing Spectators on these shared fishing charters.

Sea Wife will take 4 to 8 anglers and up to 4 spectators, all anglers are assigned a rod and your position is rotated throughout the trip. They usually troll from the harbor with all lines out, one for every angler. Once the boat is at a buoy, floater or other floating structure, the boat will then use two bait rods. Some days everyone catches, some days not. On the way back, the boat will again troll for the big game fish.

On a shared charter, the boat will target smaller game, increasing the chance of everyone onboard catching a fish. Those not fishing can enjoy a great view from the shaded top deck, relax and sit back in the beautiful warm pacific waters.

2014 Firecracker Open - July 5th, 6th 2014, Kona Hawaii

Kona, Hawaii's signature “Big Game” Tournament that scores ahi and marlin points for the base purse. Optional categories for the largest marlin and ahi of each day and of the two day tournament.

The 2013 Firecracker Open was won by Capt. Brian Wargo who showed that tenacity and the fact that it ain’t over til it’s over can pay off, as they moved from no score to top score with John Bowers doing the angling duties.  According to John, “I pretty much sat on my ass until the last hour, fought the fish and now have to sit on a plane back to California to go to work in the morning.” Such is life at the Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series. 17 Blue Marlin and  10 Ahi were caught in two days. Check back for finals. This 513 pound blue was literally “fished up” in the last minutes of the last day.

Blue Marlin World Cup, July 4th, 2014

There can be only one !!

The Blue Marlin World Cup celebrating it's 30th anniversary, is the only Big game fishing tournament that allows teams to fish anywhere in the world for 8 hours in their time zones. The World Cup is for 1 day only, for 1 species only and with 1 winner only. There is no second place in the World Cup.

The entry fee of $3000 includes everyone on the boat. The OPTIONAL additional  $5000 BIG BLUE CHALLENGE is for those who want to win an even BIGGER AWARD,  In 2011 this division was won with a 585 lb Kona blue marlin.

Fish aboard your own boat or charter a professional team in many of the big blue marlin hot spots around the world. If you live in New York, go to Bermuda; if in Australia, charter a boat in Fiji or if in Las Vegas, why not fly to Kona to fish? The World Cup has been won in 10 locations around the world with many more famous blue marlin hot spots not yet producing a winner.

On July 4 make sure your team is ready to win hundreds of thousands of dollars, not to mention bragging rights for having caught the biggest blue while competing against some of the top sport fishing teams around the globe.

In 2013 - The World Cup Blue Marlin Championship (World Cup)  took place on July 4 in 18 countries and territories with 130 teams participating. However, for the second year in a row it was Bermuda where the winning blue marlin was landed.

For 2014, already teams have registered from the Cape Verde Islands in the far eastern Atlantic to Kona, Hawaii. Kauai, well north of Hawaii's Big Island, will be represented this year for the first time. Anglers from as far away as Russia will again be fishing the World Cup on July 4.
